Christ Kitchen Barista Training Program
tracy
Christ Kitchen is a job training and discipleship program in Spokane, WA, for women living in poverty and/or needing a restart for employment. Through the production and sale of our gourmet dried food products, our full-service catering services, a food truck, a café, a coffee house, and a garden, this ministry enables women to learn to work, become employable, and support themselves and their families. Graduation from Christ Kitchen means that you are NOT reliant on government programs, any substance, or destructive relationships. Christ Kitchen needs funding to support its highly effective Barista Training program that offers women the ability to gain a skill set, enabling them to earn a life-sustaining wage for themselves and the children that rely on her for survival. The program allows graduates from this program to obtain employment that will provide wages and benefits, eliminating government assistance. Continuing the Barista Matrix would have a dynamic impact on the population we serve. The effects of poverty on single mom families struggle with chronic food insecurity, hunger, & malnutrition. We see that our women are often 3rd or 4th generation born into poverty. We are helping to break those statistics. This program has a significant impact across this ministry, both financially & in the community, as we strengthen the workforce allowing women to get life-sustaining jobs in this industry & lighting the load on public assistance reliance. The opportunity to earn money may bring women to the Kitchen, but it is the spiritual and emotional care that sustains them. HOPE is the firm foundation of this ministry. Women come through our doors facing employment and life challenges after incarceration, trafficking, abuse, addiction, and many other challenges. Within the nurturing, loving environment of Christ Kitchen, women learn work and life skills while meeting relational needs. For more information, visit the website: www.christkitchen.org

Helo us to heal
howardterry590
Hi Everyone, I am fundraising for my friend, Evangelita Merry, and her family. The family is in desperate need. They need your prayers. They need your material and financial support. Evangelita and Josh have been married for ten years and have four beautiful children, all in elementary school. One of the children needs a Sensory Toy to help calm the stress and confusion he is experiencing. This year has been especially tough not just because of Covid and the normal stresses of raising a young family but also because the husband's medical problems and mental health issues have landed him in jail. The physical issues (back problems, etc) and mental health issues have been diagnosed and they are real. Hopefully, after years of trying to get help and so many failures in the past, the judge will help with addressing the mental health issues. Josh needs help, not jail. The children miss him and are confused about the situation and why he is not home. Evangelita is so stressed, scared, not sleeping, and being pulled in so many directions. She is taking steps to care for her children's physical and mental well-being, but she needs help. She cannot continue working two jobs. She needs money for gas, paying a babysitter, buying school supplies and clothes for some of the children, purchasing sensory toys and so so much more. Please help her and her family by donating as much as you can. Please know that while the need is great, every amount will help. Thank you in advance for your prayers and contributions

Maya's Spark Fund
James Charitable Fund
2021-2022 Maya James was a fun-loving and quirky child. While she faced multiple challenges (Down syndrome & autism), she walked through her world with confidence and spirit. Maya tragically and unexpectedly passed away in the spring of 2021. In her name, her family started Maya’s Spark Fund whose mission is to raise money to provide scholarships to quality programs that support developmentally disabled people and their families live their best quality life in New Hampshire. Please consider helping us -- every donation is matched on a one-to-one basis. Your donation of $1 will turn into $2 for the fund! Maya's Story of Life: She loved people, dogs, clapping (especially clapping for her), music, action movies, technology, splashing in water, duck duck goose and her family. Maya was not self conscious -- she never questioned her right to be in the world. She had a confidence that she walked through this world with. Maya faced many challenges (Down Syndrome, Autism, Medically Fragile, and Non Verbal). However, she didn’t let that define her. Maya’s perseverance and problem solving ability were a great strength of hers. She faced her challenges head on and with a positive attitude most of the time (she was a teenager, after all). Maya was a “high maintenance chick” without a doubt. She had significant medical, social, and educational needs. At times it was overwhelming. But Team Maya always came to our rescue. Maya definitely embodies the idea of it taking a village to raise a child. Whether it was her educational team, her medical team, or her family, or the larger community, we all helped raise her and delighted in her growth. Maya passed away in April of 2021. I would love to be able to tell you exactly how and why, but as with many things Maya, her death doesn’t make sense. I don’t have a story that is consistent. It was unexpected and heartbreaking for everyone who knew her. In her legacy, we are starting a fund to help other families who face similar challenges. As in her life, we want her spark to inspire and help others. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of many children with disabilities. While her family is likely to be the biggest single contributor, every small-dollar donation will add up to be a powerful enhancer to the fund. Raising a child with a developmental disability is harder than you think. These children have extra doctor appointments, therapy appointments, and multiple meetings at school. The family as a unit needs support. Parents have to educate themselves and advocate for their child. As her mother, I was her voice and fiercest advocate. In New Hampshire, we are fortunate to have many programs that offer support. However, they often cost money and not everyone has the means to take advantage of the opportunities. Often one parent must stay home to care for their child. So they have less income and more expenses. As an example, a summer camp for Maya’s twin brother cost about $1000/week. Summer camp for Maya was 2-3 times that per week. This fund will establish scholarships for many of the programs that contributed so much to her (and our family’s) quality of life. Here are some examples: *Adam’s Camp is a therapeutic camp experience for kids with intellectual differences. ($2,700 per camp) *Camp Communicate incorporates communication devices into a true camp experience. ($1700 per camp) *The NAPA center is a cutting-edge, intensive therapy place offering feeding therapy and neuro suit therapy (to name just a few). ($125/session, $7500 for 4hrs per day for 3weeks) These programs directly benefitted Maya. However, other programs helped our entire family. *Zebra Crossings is an organization that supports kids with chronic medical conditions and offers a weekend retreat for families that have kids with Down syndrome. ($250 per family per weekend) *NH Leadership ran perhaps the single best workshop I have ever attended -- and as a teacher myself, I have attended quite a few workshops. NH Leadership gave me a vision of a full life for Maya and gave me the tools to achieve that goal. ($250 per participant) *The Parent Information Center helped me understand special education law and helped our whole school team work together more effectively. Please consider helping us to help other families throughout the state of New Hampshire. I promise you that I have the knowledge and motivation to make sure that any donation received will be well spent on programs (and not administration). While Maya’s life was way too short, these funds will keep her legacy alive forever and spark a better quality life for others.

Funding for a nonprofit to prevent infectious diseases in West Africa
Public Health Foundation for Hand Hygiene
West Africa is one of the highest ranked countries when it comes to infectious diseases especially the ones caused due to lack of hygiene. It is heartbreaking to see people suffer from the pain and even risk losing their lives due to these diseases that are completely preventable provided they have access to and awareness of proper hygiene and sanitation practices. As both a medical laboratory scientist at Philadelphia Penn Medicine with a Master’s in Public Health and as a U.S. Army veteran I have committed myself to help people live a better and healthier life. As a part of the Public Health Foundation for Hand Hygiene (PHFHH), a nonprofit and 501c3 organization dedicated to promoting hand washing and proper hygiene practices I am consistently working towards the goal to reduce the spread of deadly infectious diseases in West African countries. But considering the impact I’m looking to have; I need your support to reach as many people and communities as possible. For this reason, I’m here to ask for your donations to help supply West African countries with masks, garbage trucks, trash cans, sanitizers, and impregnated mosquito nets to populations to reduce malaria infections. To ensure long term prevention of deadly infectious diseases your donations will further be used for education and awareness of sustainable sanitation and hygiene practices and construction of an estimated 7,000 water towers in villages across the region thereby helping ensure access to clean drinking water. Improving food security for the most marginalized communities will also be one of the primary goals of this campaign thereby allowing for proper nutrition and thus better overall health of people. While the goal of this project might seem ambitious, it is important to get started in order to bring about an impactful long-term change in how people in these underprivileged, marginalized communities in West African countries can live a better quality, healthy life. Bringing about this change through awareness and education doesn’t just impact the local communities but also helps the nation progress thereby triggering growth and better public health on a global scale. Understandably, your donations are critical to the success of this campaign. I urge you to come together and join hands in bringing about this global change by helping people and communities in need and deeply appreciate any and all donations you make to strengthen this cause.
