With the civil unrest of the past decade, many hundreds of children have been placed in orphanages. Of the over 13,000 orphans, only 1.5% are adopted. Those not adopted still need a great deal in order to thrive both while in the orphanages and after they leave at the age of 16.
Our mission is to empower and educate Nepalese orphans, especially girls, by providing basic health care, education, nutrition, and life skills. We run The Kumari Project Safe House - a family-sized home for 12 kids, primarily girls, in Kathmandu.
